Ansari on 2-day visit to State

Vice-President of India M Hamid Ansari is coming to the State on a two-day visit from April 2.

On his arrival here at 1 pm, Ansari will proceed to Raj Bhawan. He will attend the centenary celebration of Shailabala Women’s College, Cuttack at 3.30 pm and make night halt at Raj Bhawan.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to meet the Vice-President at Raj Bhawan in the evening. Ansari will leave Bhubaneswar for Delhi on April 3.

Chief Secretary Bijay Patnaik reviewed preparations including security arrangement for the proposed visit of the Vice-President at a high-level meeting here on Saturday. Patnaik has directed all the departments concerned to look into all the preparations and not to leave anything to chance.

Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore Mohapatra; Principal Secretary, Home, UN Behera; Secretary, Higher Education, GK Dhal; Director, I&PR, DP Das; Director, Intelligence; Deputy Commissioner of Police; Director, Health Services; Principal of Shailabala Women’s College, Cuttack and senior officers of the departments concerned were present at the meeting.
