External examiners must for all practical exams, says CHSE

The Council for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has instructed the Plus Two examination centres to hold practical examinations under the supervision of the external examiners deputed by the Council.

The external examiners have been deputed for all the colleges where practical examination for Science  and Arts subjects will be conducted.

CHSE Chairman GS Ray said the list of external examiners has been sent to the colleges with instruction to avail the service of the examiners assigned to them. If any college wants to change the examiner, it has to seek the Chairman’s approval, he added.

The Science students will appear for 10 practical papers while Arts students will appear for seven. “We have found that some colleges are not utilising the service of the external examiners in order to favour their students,” said Ray. Evaluation of the practical papers must be done by the externals, he added.

Ray said they are focused on completing the evaluation and announcing the results on time keeping the future of the students who will appear for entrance examinations for technical courses in mind. Evaluation will begin from April 3.
