A daily wage labourer was found murdered in his Kuttakhai Lane home under Lalbagh police limits here on Saturday.

The 47-year-old labourer, OT Saroj Rao, was found in a pool of blood by his cousin. He had been stabbed several times. Police suspect previous enmity for the murder.

Rao, who had a history of mental illness, was staying alone. The wife of his cousin, who stays in the vicinity, found something suspicious when she saw two men getting out of Rao’s house.

She called her husband Trinath over phone and when the latter went to Rao’s house, he found Rao in a pool of blood. Local police was informed. Cuttack DCP Pravin Kumar and his officers rushed to the spot. Rao, police sources said, had a dispute with some locals in the past. A case has been lodged and probe is on.
