Tourist bus rams into truck, 15 pilgrims injured

As many as 15 passengers were injured when a Puri-bound tourist bus from West Bengal rammed into an iron ore laden truck parked on Brahmani bridge near Gokarneswar temple on NH-5 under Dharmasala police limits on Friday.

As many as 15 passengers were injured when a Puri-bound tourist bus from West Bengal rammed into an iron ore laden truck parked on Brahmani bridge near Gokarneswar temple on NH-5 under Dharmasala police limits on Friday.

The injured were rushed to Dharmasala hospital while five out of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack after their condition deteriorated, police said. 

Bhang Seized

District Excise sleuths seized 1.5 quintals of bhang used in preparation of ‘Shatavari’ (an intoxicant), packing materials, machines after conducting a raid on the house of one Manoj Kumar Pal (35) in Biswanathpur village on Friday.

Pal was allegedly preparing ‘Shatavari’ sachets and supplying those to Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khurda, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Dhenkanal since long.
