Trader Dies in Accident

BHUBANESWAR: A 34-year-old trader belonging to Nayagarh and owning a shop at Unit-I market here died in an accident on Tuesday.

Sources said the van in which the trader, Sambhupratap Biswal, was travelling hit a truck near Aiginia under Khandagiri police limits.

The incident occurred near Shani Temple Square at around 3.30 pm when the trader was returning after purchasing grocery items from Khurda in a van.

Biswal was critically injured in the accident and rushed to Capital Hospital by some locals, police said.

The doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead, police said and added that both the vehicles have been seized and efforts are on to nab the driver of the truck, who fled the spot.

A case was registered at Khandagiri police station and the body sent for autopsy.
