BHUBANESWAR: A former sarpanch of Badchana was arrested by police for cheating a City-based real estate firm.
Benudhar Biswal, the accused, had entered into an agreement with Qualcomm Pvt Ltd, for proving five-acre land in Badchana last year. Of `22-lakh agreement, `6 lakh was paid in advance but Biswal allegedly went back on his words. Later, the firm filed a complaint with a local court which directed the Airfield Police Station to register a case. Basing on the case, Biswal was arrested.
