Dacoits Loot Businessman at Gun Point

BALANGIR: Six dacoits looted the house of a businessman in Ghagurli village under Belpara police limits at gun point on Sunday. The loot includes `five lakh in cash and gold jewellery of equal value.

Sources said the dacoits barged into the house of Madhuram Agarwal and locked up his family members in a room at gun point. When Madhuram tried to resist, they shot at him and took away the booty.

On being informed, Belpara police rushed to the spot and started the investigation. Seriously injured Madhuram was admitted to Patnagarh sub-divisional hospital and later shifted to VSS, Burla as his condition deteriorated. On Monday morning, he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.

Talking to media persons, Belpara IIC Antaryami Behera said the culprits used gun and other sharp weapons during decoity. Efforts are on to nab the dacoits soon, added the IIC.
