BERHAMPUR: Ganjam District Session Judge Madhusudan Dhal on Tuesday heard the arguments of public prosecutor Jameswar Mishra on the review petition challenging SDJM Court’s interim order on interrogation of Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda. The case was put up for order on Wednesday.
Panda was arrested on Friday and produced before the SDJM here. While his counsel Deepak Patnaik filed a petition for bail, police appealed to the court to take Panda on 14-day remand.
Mishra argued that Panda was involved in waging a war against the State and had attempted uprising against the rule of the law in the country.
Hence, his interrogation during police remand cannot be compared to that of any ordinary criminal.
