Depts Asked to Expedite Execution of Projects

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Secretary JK Mohapatra on Wednesday asked the departments concerned to institutionalise the State project monitoring group and undertake regular follow-up to expedite implementation of investment projects in the State.

The directive of the Chief Secretary came at the second Project Monitoring Committee meeting here.

Issues relating to resettlement and rehabilitation by Tata Sponge, development of Utkal E-coal mine project, Radhikapur East coal block, construction of common approach road for linking Utkal E-coal mine to State Highway-63, construction of common rail corridor for transportation of coal by IDCO, change of name of Yazdani Steel and Power, proposal of an integrated steel plant of 0.120 million tonne per annum by Sri Bajrang Power and Ispat Ltd with an investment of `500 crore, JK Laxmi Cement and RSB Transmission were discussed at the meeting.

Besides, matters relating to disbursement of compensation, land alienation, forest clearance, issue of forest right certificate, water allocation and cost sharing among the end users for construction of common corridor also came up for discussion.
