Privilege Motion Against Govt

BHUBANESWAR: Leader of the Opposition Narsingh Mishra on Thursday moved a privilege motion against State Government in the Assembly for not responding to special mentions raised in the House by members.

Raising the issue during zero hour, Mishra alleged that out of 75 special mentions raised by members in the House during the ongoing session, the Government has replied to only 15. It has violated rules by not replying to the special mentions within 48 hours as per rules, he said.

Mishra demanded that all departments should be censured for not following the rules. He requested Speaker Niranjan Pujari to refer the matter to the privilege committee for further discussion.

Naba Kishore Das (Cong) alleged that 15 replies were given to the members only after privilege notice was filed by the Leader of the Opposition.
