New Chief Secy to Take Charge on Aug 1

BHUBANESWAR: The State Government on Wednesday appointed Gokul Chandra Pati as the new Chief Secretary. He will be the 41st Chief Secretary of the State.

An IAS officer of 1978 batch, Pati is likely to take charge of his new assignment on August 1, official sources said. The post of Chief Secretary is lying vacant after Jugal Kishore Mohapatra demitted office on July 25 on Central deputation. He has been posted as the Union Fertiliser Secretary.

Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and Development Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhy is in charge of the top position.

Besides, the Government also made a minor reshuffle at the top IAS level. Principal Secretary of Home department Vipin Kumar Saxena has been transferred and posted as Special Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.

Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Upendra Nath Behera been given additional charge of Home department, a Government notification said.
