BHUBANESWAR: A dentist of the city has alleged that a woman and her son duped him of `75 lakh. Seeking justice, the complainant Satya Ranjan Samal of Mahanadi Vihar in Cuttack has approached the State Human Rights Commission.
Samal, who runs a dental clinic at Jaydev Vihar here, started practising here after serving the United Nations for several years. A couple of years back Samal had paid the amount to Kumkum towards acquiring the power of attorney of a petrol pump and a plot of land owned by her. Besides, the complainant had also paid Rs 3.5 lakh as advance for purchasing a flat owned by her here.
However, few months after the deal Samal found that the same property had been sold off to other parties. When he approached Kumkum in Baripada and demanded his money, Samal was attacked by her son and his associates. Samal has also lodged an FIR at Baripada police station.
