BHUBANESWAR: As the four-day CBI remand of Mumbai-based model and TV serial producer Preeti Bhatia ended on Tuesday, she was produced in the court of Special Judge, CBI which sent her to judicial custody till October 24.
The court reserved its verdict on Preeti’s bail petition for an unscheduled date. The model was sent for medical examination to the Capital Hospital and later to the Special Jail, Jharpada where Preeti will be lodged for next 10 days. According to sources, on the first day of her remand, Preeti cooperated with the investigators. However, on the following three days, she remained quiet and broke down on several occasions for which the investigators could not extract much details.
Preeti was arrested by the CBI on Friday after her links with scam tainted AT Group owner Pradip Sethy were established. Allegations were being levelled that Preeti was managing the entertainment business of the AT Group through the production house PrismHeights Entertainment Limited. While Sethy had diverted `4 crore into this company for production of tele-serials, Preeti was unable to give a detailed account of the expenditure of the amount. CBI had raided Bhatia’s house in Mumbai in August and seized several incriminating documents revealing financial transactions between Preeti and Sethy.
