CUYYACK : Even as a bitter stand-off between an assistant professor and Head of Gastroenterology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) has brought the vital unit to a complete standstill, the former, Dr Haribhakti Seba Das, has demanded expedient completion of the inquiry.
While the hospital authorities have referred the matter to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Das said the delay in conduct of the inquiry has affected her mentally as well as professionally.
She said the matter was dragging long. At first a local committee was formed in 2013 but did not reveal the outcome. Again a local committee was formed in September this year before the matter was referred to ICC on her opposition.
Meanwhile, the issue has also seriously affected teaching activities in the Superspeciality department prompting DM students to press the Dean for speedy resolution. They have called for completing the inquiry at the earliest as the matter has begun to sully the image of the department and hampering patient care as well as education.
