PURI: Three marine police stations were inaugurated along 70-km stretch of Puri coast by SP Ashish Kumar Singh on Friday.

The police stations are located at Astaranga beach, Ramchandi near Chandrabhaga beach and Arakhakuda near Brahmagiri. The Ramchandi marine police station has been set up on the premises of the Ramchandi police station and the Brahmagiri police station will look after the affairs of both the Ramchandi and Arakhakuda marine police stations.

Apparently, these marine police stations have not been provided any speed boats and adequate number of trained staff.

Singh said the arrangements are temporary and soon, all the three police stations would have their own buildings and provisions. The stations would be equipped with trained marine police personnel and speed boats to patrol the coast and keep vigil on illegal activities in the sea.
