Triple Murder Accused Sent to Jail

BHUBANESWAR: The accused in the Khandagiri triple murder case, Sneha Swakhyar Samal, was produced in a local court here on Saturday which remanded him to judicial custody.

The Commissionerate Police would soon interrogate Mini Meher, widow of Dr. Atulya Chandra Meher and Runu Behera, wife of deceased caretaker Prashant Behera. Both are undergoing treatment at different private hospitals in the city.

Meanwhile, accused Samal stood by his statement that he committed the ghastly act because he was infuriated with the expensive medicines and medical tests prescribed by Meher for his daughter.

However, the family members of the accused said Samal could not have killed three persons for the same reason.

Police are still looking at all angles to establish the actual motive behind the murders.

Autopsy reports, which would provide more clues in the investigation process, are awaited.
