Two Held for Laptop Theft

BHUBANESWAR: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday arrested two persons in connection with the laptop theft from railway station here.

The stolen Dell Vastro laptop worth Rs 30,000 was recovered from the possession of the accused. They were identified as Sibaram Gauda (23) of Sriram Nagar in Berhampur and Rashmikanta Sharma, a native of Bhawanipatna. They were staying in Markanda Sahi of Puri.

On Sunday, YSLV Prasad of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh lodged a complaint at the GRP outpost stating that his laptop was stolen while he was resting at the waiting hall here. Basing on the complaint, a probe was initiated and the accused were arrested from Puri.

Investigation revealed that Gauda sold the laptop to Sharma the same day he stole the gadget. Sharma was accused of not verifying the details of the device before buying it from Gauda.

Both of them were produced in a local court which remanded them to judicial custody.
