BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday chose the party’s Jana Sampark Padyatra to urge workers to focus on development. It is being seen as an attempt by the Chief Minister to rebuild the party’s image which has taken a severe beating in chit fund as well as mining scams.

The padyatra, which kicked off on October 2, culminated in Bhubaneswar Central Assembly constituency with Naveen advising workers and leaders to work for the people and live upto their expectations. “People have reposed their trust on the BJD and we must live upto their expectations,” he said and dwelt on the schemes launched by his Government during the last 14 years for the economic development of Odisha.

Stating that BJD is the voice of common people, Naveen said the party will continue to work for their betterment.

Minister of State for Tourism Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani, BJD legislators from Bhubaneswar Central and North Bijay Mohanty and Priyadarshi Mishra and other leaders of the party accompanied Naveen.
