SAMBALPUR: The search committee has shortlisted three candidates to appear for interview for the post of Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT). The Chancellor and Governor of Odisha Dr SC Jamir will interview the shortlisted candidates on November 5 ahead of completion of term of the current VC Prof BK Nanda on November 30.
The three names which have been proposed by the committee include current VC Prof Nanda, Prof KC Patra of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela and Prof Saibaba Reddy of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
Sources said the committee comprising Managing Director of NALCO Anshuman Das, former Director of IIT, Kharagpur Prof Damodar Acharya and former Director of IIT, Kanpur Sanjay G Dhande was formed to recommend three names from among 22 applicants who had applied for the post. The committee had shortlisted nine aspirants on September 28.
Later, the committee interacted with those candidates on October 18 after which names of three have been recommended for the post.
