

BHUBANESWAR: A cobra was rescued from a house in the central farm on Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) premises on Monday night.
Sources said two daughters of Kishor Nayak, an employee of the farm, were sleeping on a cot inside a mosquito net in their house. On hearing a sound at 2 am, one of Nayak’s daughter, Monika, woke up and switched on the light. She saw a cobra above the mosquito net. She silently woke her elder sister Sneha and came out of the room.
On being contacted by the panic-stricken family, Subhendu Mallik of Snake Helpline accompanied by volunteer Purna Chandra Das rushed to the house and rescued the cobra at around 3 am.
