SAMBALPUR: Three persons were arrested and forwarded to Court on Tuesday by Kuchinda police for their alleged involvement in the murder of one Ghanshyam Bankara (35), whose body was recovered from the embankment of a water body at Jyotipada in Ward 7 of Kuchinda NAC on June 12.
Those arrested are Jogendra Kisan (34) of Lapra village, Gobardhan Rohidas (42) and Chahal Patra (26), both of Bilung village.
Investigation revealed that the trio along with Bankara of Lapra village stole a bullock from Kuchinda and sold it. However, the villagers of Lapra came to know about the involvement of Bankara and interrogated him. He spilled the beans and later, the villagers lodged a complaint at Mahulpali police station in this regard.Â
Agitated over this, Kisan, Rohidas and Patra conspired to kill Bankara and invited him to Kuchinda on June 12 and offered him alcohol mixed with poison. When Bankara died, they dumped the body at Jyotipada of Kuchinda town.
On Tuesday, while Kisan was arrested from Sambalpur, police nabbed Rohidas and Patra from Kuchinda. The bottle of poison was also seized.
