BHUBANESWAR: Governor SC Jamir on Tuesday administered the oath of office and secrecy to two newly appointed State Information Commissioners (SICs).
Sashiprava Bindhani and LN Patnaik took the oath of office at a simple function held at Raj Bhavan here. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Minister of State for Law Arun Sahu, senior officers and some eminent personalities were present on the occasion. The State Government had recommended names of Bindhani and Patnaik to the Governor for appointment as information commissioners as the two posts had remained vacant since long.
Meanwhile, the State Government has issued advertisement inviting applications for the post of Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).
