BHUBANESWAR: Train services from Mumbai have been severely affected following heavy rains that lashed Western India earlier this week.

The Konark Express, which had departed Mumbai on Friday, has been running 23 hours late while the one that left on Saturday was 5.45 hours behind schedule.

Similarly, the LTT-Visakhapatnam Express and LTT-Bhubaneswar Express, originating on Saturday, have been running over seven hours and nine hours late respectively.

In view of the delays, Sunday’s Konark Express has been rescheduled to leave Bhubaneswar on Monday noon. Monday’s train too has been rescheduled but the fresh timing has not been decided, East Coast Railway sources said. The Kalinga Utkal Express, which was to leave on Sunday evening, was delayed by four hours.
