RAIRAKHOL:The decomposed body of Srikara Naik (65) of Nagabira village under Naktideul block was recovered from Khajurikhaman forest in Naktideul Forest Range on Tuesday.

Naik had gone to the forest to collect Mahua flower on Sunday and did not return. On Tuesday, a group of 70 villagers went searching deep inside the forest and found his body. Naik might have been trampled to death by wild elephants who are attracted by the smell of Mahua flower, suspect the villagers.

A case has been registered and the body sent for autopsy.
