Foundation Day of RBI

BHUBANESWAR: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday marked its 80th Foundation Day with an exhibition ‘RBI@80: Beyond Central Banking’ at its regional office here.

The exhibition, inaugurated by Chief Secretary GC Pati in the presence of RBI Regional Director PK Jena, will continue till April 5.

The RBI exhibition seeks to educate the general public about various financial subjects. While providing a snapshot of 80 years journey and role of RBI in lives of common man, the exhibition has on display interesting facts about currency notes, demand of e-banking while creating awareness on fraud schemes for earning easy money and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Exchange of old currency notes and coins along with important information related to insurance is also part of the exhibition. It aims to inform and educate people on their own financial management and enable them to make financial plans safer and stronger.

Among others, additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner UN Behera, Chief General Manager (CGM), Nabard Satish SK Kale and CGM, SBI Odisha KM Trivedi were present.
