BARIPADA: A tribal woman of Gajadihi village was raped by four persons in Daheebari village under Baisinga police limits on Wednesday night. Three of the accused have been arrested while another is absconding.
The incident occurred when the woman was going to attend the nature’s call after watching adivasi theatre held in her uncle’s village. While she was going with her husband, they were obstructed by four persons. One of the miscreants forcefully took her to the side of a pond where all the four raped her while her husband ran to her uncle’s house to seek help.
Villagers rushed to the spot and caught two persons and handed them over to police. Acting on the complaint filed by the victim, police arrested another accused in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday while the main accused is absconding.
Investigating Officer RK Muduli said a case has been registered.
