Headmaster Suspended for Misbehaviour

BARIPADA: Headmaster of a SC/ST Development School in Kaptipada of Mayurbhanj district Kapileswar Mallick was suspended on Wednesday for allegedly misbehaving with girl students of the institution.

Police also registered a case against him following a written complaint filed by teachers Sumati Kisku and Bharat Chandra Mohanta. The two teachers had videographed his activities and showed it to the District Welfare Officer (DWO) Krupasindhu Behera.

Behera said he had visited the school after receiving the complaint from the two teachers. “They claimed that the headmaster used to misbehave with the girl students on the pretext of asking them to apply medicine or give a body massage. I handed over the complaint to the police seeking an impartial inquiry,” he said.

The headmaster was found absconding from the school. IIC of Kaptipada police station Braja Bandhu Behera visited the school and recorded the statements of students besides that of other employees and locals. “The headmaster is absconding. We have registered a case and investigation is on. Efforts are on to locate the accused,” he added.
