BHUBANESWAR: A delegation from the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) led by Mayor Ravinder Gupta visited the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday.
The NDMC team met the BMC officials and participated in an interactive session with Mayor AN Jena and Corporators.
Issues related to civic administration, sanitation, solid waste disposal and streamlining holding tax collection were discussed, sources said.
Gupta suggested that BMC officials should collect property tax from commercial services and establishment to give an impetus to its revenue.
Gupta appreciated the initiatives taken up by the BMC towards greenery and cleanliness of upmarket areas.
The NDMC team also had a brief interaction on ‘Slum Resettlement’ project and various income sources of BMC. Gupta gathered information on the proposed waste to energy plant to be set up at Bhuasuni here. He invited Jena and BMC officials to visit North Delhi and participate in a knowledge sharing session with civic administration experts.
