SALEPUR: Local Congress workers burnt the effigy of Mahanga Legislator and BJD Spokesman Pratap Jena in front of Tangi block office on Saturday, protesting his alleged links with criminals.

The party workers took out a rally from the local party office and held a meeting where Congress leaders came down heavily on Jena. They alleged that Jena maintained links with anti-social elements to protect his business units in Tangi. They accused him of roping in criminals to attack Congress leader Biraja Prasad Rout on August 4.

On the other hand, over 100 BJD workers burnt the effigies of Salepur-Tangi Congress Legislator Prakash Chandra Behera and AICC president Sonia Gandhi outside the block office in the evening.
