JAJPUR: One Dusmanta Sahu was arrested by police on Saturday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in Naguan village under Kuakhia police limits in the district.
The accused belongs to Dhanmandal under Barachana police limits. He had come to his relative’s house in Naguan village where he committed the crime on Wednesday night. As per police complaint filed by father of the girl, she had gone to answer nature’s call when the accused forcibly took her to an isolated place and committed the crime. When the victim became unconscious, the accused returned to his house.
As her parents were asleep, they could not know of the incident till some villagers informed them on Thursday morning that their daughter was lying unconscious in a paddy field. She was taken to a local hospital where the girl, after regaining consciousness, told her mother about the incident. The victim named the accused following which, police arrested him on Saturday.
