SALEPUR: A sex racket, functioning from a house at Laxmi Vihar in Laxmanpur village near Jagatpur was busted by local police on Monday. Three persons were arrested and a 40-year-old woman rescued from the house.
Those arrested are Babu Singh (20) of Balikuda under Cuttack Sadar police limits, Dibya Ranjan Das (22) of College Square and Chintu Saha (19) of Jobra under Malgodown police limits. They were forwarded to court which remanded them in judicial custody and the woman sent to Basundhara short stay home. Kingpin of the racket, Ashok Das (40) is absconding.
Police said two months back Ashok had taken the house on rent on the plea of opening a grocery shop. Locals, however, suspected foul following frequent visits of women to the house. They informed the police following which, the racket was busted. Police said investigation is on to find out involvement of others in the racket and nab Ashok.
