Cops to Act Tough on Traffic Violators

SAMBALPUR:  Sambalpur police decided to tighten noose on traffic violators from January 1 in the City. Under-age and rash driving, use of mobile phones while driving and  driving without valid documents will be checked.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Sambalpur, Sushil Kumar Panigrahi said on Thursday that action against traffic violators would be initiated as per Motor Vehicle Act besides imposing fine ranging from `300 to `1,000.

After creating awareness on the issue among the people, the order will be implemented from New Year, he added.
