BHUBANESWAR: Saheed Nagar police on Friday arrested two persons who duped used car buyers by selling a single vehicle to multiple persons.
The accused forged original documents such as registration and insurance certificates of the cars and made copies of the same. They then lured customers by offering lucrative deals. The accused were identified as Biraj Kumar Satpathy, a broker at RTO-I, Bhubaneswar and one Md Gulsanwar.
The connivance of RTO and insurance company personnel in the fraud cannot be ruled out, a police official said. The accused were produced in court which sent them in judicial custody.
