SAMBALPUR: Three constables of Government Railway Police (GRP) were arrested by Sambalpur police on Friday night and 49 kg of hemp seized from their possession.

The three constables of Sambalpur GRP have been identified as Prashanta Behera, Nirmal Prusty and Fakira Sahu. Police intercepted them at Khetrajpur station and inquired about the contents of the bags being carried by them. When they could not give a satisfactory reply, police searched the three and found the hemp concealed in the bags. They claimed that they found it abandoned in a bogie of Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express, but it failed to convince the police who detained them for interrogation and later arrested them.
