DHENKANAL: In a tragic incident, a minor boy was killed and four others sustained serious injuries after a truck hit them in Gohirakhal village on Dhenkanal-Bhapur road under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sambit Behera (10) of Naranpur.
According to sources, the boys were walking along the road early in the morning when a truck loaded with stones hit the students from the rear, killing Behera on the spot. The injured were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital by some locals and later two of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack as their condition worsened.
Sadar Police said search is on to nab the erring truck driver.
