Odisha CM Has Failed, Says BJP

The BJP said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has nothing to boast for in his 15 years of uninterrupted stay in power.

BHUBANESWAR: The BJP on Sunday said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has nothing to boast for in his 15 years of uninterrupted stay in power and accused him of failing on all fronts.

“The BJD Government has been unable to solve problems faced by people due to its gross inefficiency,” BJP national general secretary and Odisha in-charge Arun Singh told media persons here.

Claiming that the BJD Government’s poor performance has left people disillusioned and unhappy, Singh said the ruling party has been cheating people during the last 15 years.

Singh, who is here to monitor the organisational elections of the State unit of the BJP, said his party is now encouraging its cadres to fight the misgovernance of the ruling BJD.

Failure of the BJD Government is thoroughly exposed with increasing incidents of farmers’ suicide. The State Government has failed to mitigate the plight of farmers as it could not properly deal with the drought situation, he said.

Not only the agriculture but also all other sectors including education, health, drinking water and electricity are in total mess. “Miseries of poor, farmers and backward sections are compounded because of the Government’s inefficiency,” Singh said.

Stating that a number of steps has been taken to strengthen the party in the State, he said agitational programmes have been planned from block to State level to expose the failure of the Government.

Replying to a question on Polavaram, Singh said the Chief Minister does not want a solution to the problem. He wants to keep the issue alive for political purpose, he added.
