126 Ad Hoc Doctors Join Duty at Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: The State Government’s efforts to fill up the huge shortfall of doctors in the peripheral level, particularly in the backward KBK districts, has got a boost with 126 newly appointed ad hoc doctors joining their posts.

The Government had selected 126 doctors to be appointed on ad hoc basis and issued the appointment letters on November 26. By the end of the deadline of December 15 for joining, 102 have reported to duty at assigned hospitals.

Of the appointed doctors, 25 of 31 have joined in Koraput, two of two in Malkangiri, two of three in Nabrangpur, 18 of 19 in Rayagada, seven of eight in Balangir, three of five in Boudh, 14 of 18 in Kalahandi, four of eight in Nuapada, two of three in Gajapati, 20 of 22 in Kandhamal and five of seven in Sonepur.
