NALCO-LVPEI Tieup to Set up Eye Hospital

ANGUL: National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) will set up a modern eye hospital at Angul in association with LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI). The hospital would come up at a cost of `15 crore and will cater to people residing in periphery villages of Nalco’s Smelter and Captive Power Plant.

Land for the hospital has already been identified by the company. At present, the company operates three mobile healthcare units and one OPD at Angul, which offers free medicines to the rural population everyday.

Under its CSR activities, NALCO has decided to renovate the existing water supply system in 13 villages through Rural Water Supply & Sanitation with an expenditure of `10 crore.

This apart, it is digging up four water bodies at Girang, Kulad and Kandsar. The company has taken up augmentation of pipe-water supply project in Kulad village.

Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Nalco has constructed 144 toilets in 72 schools of the district.
