Missing Cashew Van Found

JAIPUR: The missing cashew-laden vehicle was found from Boipariguda area by Jeypore Sadar Police on Saturday. The vehicle, though, was empty.

Police said the van carrying cashew worth `eight lakh went missing from Kumuliput Road on Jeypore-Borrigumma national highway while on way to Nagpur via Borrigumma on Sunday. Later, the driver of the van filed a complaint at Sadar police station stating that the van was forcibly taken away by three persons. Subsequently, three police teams raided the hideouts of criminals in Borrigumma, Jeypore, Kundra and Boipariguda pockets to trace the missing van. On a tip off, police found the van from a forest area at Boipariguda but the cashew stocks had been emptied from it.

Jeypore Sadar IIC G C Buruda said the teams have received some vital clues and the missing cashew stock would be located soon.

Meanwhile, Koraput SP CS Meena visited all police stations in Jeypore town on the day and reviewed law and order situation.
