New Year-eve Security Beefed up

BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate of Police have beefed up security in the Capital City to prevent any untoward incident during the New Year eve on Thursday.

DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said 16 check posts have been set up across the city to monitor vehicular movement and prevent anti-social activities. All hotels and clubs, where New Year bashes are scheduled, have been instructed not to drag on the parties beyond midnight.

The hotel management will have to make appropriate arrangements to drop people, who would be under the influence of alcohol and not in a condition to drive, home, Bhoi said.

Around 20 mobile teams, equipped with breath analysers, will be on patrol duty to put a tab on drunken driving and maintain peace.

Besides, random checks would be conducted at hotels on Thursday and Friday as part of raids to prevent rowdies from outside entering the city with an intention to create law and order problem on the New Year’s eve.
