CM to Attend NITI Aayog Meet

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would leave for New Delhi on Saturday to attend the first governing council meeting of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog on Monday, to be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister would discuss the implementation of 10 major Centrally- sponsored programmes and Budget-related issues with the chief ministers at the meeting. The chief ministers would be briefed about the mode of Central assistance to the States under the NITI Aayog, which replaced the Planning Commission recently.

The Centre has decided to limit the number of Centrally-sponsored programmes from 66 to 10.
