AML Lockout Illegal: Govt

ROURKELA: The State Government on Thursday declared the closure of Adhunik Metaliks Ltd (AML) plant in Kuanrmunda block of Sundargarh district as illegal and ordered the management to immediately restore normalcy.

The order issued by Labour Secretary G Srinivasan was faxed to the office of Sundargarh Collector with an instruction to take necessary action.

District Labour Officer (DLO) Pranab Patra confirmed to have received the order and said the AML management would be instructed to comply with the Government direction and restore normalcy in the plant.

As no official of the plant is present in the district, a copy of the order would be sent to the corporate office of Adhunik Groups at Kolkata, Patra said. “If the management fails to comply with the Government order, a criminal case would be filed in the court of Panposh SDJM,” he added.

The management had closed the plant on February 12 night citing financial constraints.
