BHUBANESWAR: In a daring incident in the city, four unidentified miscreants shot at two persons, including a jewellery shop owner, before fleeing with cash and ornaments at Dumduma Housing Board Colony on Sunday night.

Raghunath Sahoo, who owns a jewellery shop, was returning home with a relative Chunu when they were intercepted by the anti-socials.

Preliminary reports said the criminals fired at them before snatching cash and valuables from their possession. Both Raghunath and Chunu suffered bullet injuries in their legs and were rushed to a private hospital.

Although Khandagiri police remained tightlipped about the incident, reports said the four had come on two bikes and sped away after the loot. Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi rushed to the spot to take stock of the incident. Entry and exit points of the city have been sealed to nab the miscreants.
