BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate of Police has decided to set up a police outpost at Dumduma under Khandagiri police limits.

Policing the Dumduma area, on the city outskirts, continues to be an Achilles heel for the city police.

Already overburdened, both area and population wise, Khandagiri Police is struggling to contain crime in Dumduma and its adjoining localities with limited resources.

There are only two PCR vans which patrol an area of 70 kms and looks after a population of over three lakh in Khandagiri. The staff and vehicle strength of Khandagiri police station will also be spruced up soon, said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
