Three Women Maoists held from Border

JEYPORE/MALKANGIRI:Three women Maoists were arrested by the security personnel during a combing operation in the area bordering Malkangiri and Chhattisgarh in the early hours of Tuesday.

They have been identified as Samari Madkami of Temurpalli and Parbati Podiami of Kamarpalli under Mathili police limits and Debe Irmami alias Rema of Marigata under Kalimela police limits. While Samari and Parbati were nabbed from Mathili forest, Debe was apprehended from Kalimela forest.

Police said the three were wanted in several cases of Maoist related violence like planting bombs and spreading terror among the villagers in Odisha and the neighbouring State.

While, Samari and Parbati were the militia members of Central Regional Committee (CRC) of Maoists and were involved in the killing of Naib Sarpanch Buda Durua in May 2013, Debe was the president of the CPI (Maoist) Revolutionary People’s Committee (RPC) and was operating from Kalimela.
