BHUBANESWAR: A Special CBI Court on Wednesday turned down the bail application of Mayurbhanj MP Rama Chandra Hansda, who is facing charges in the chit fund scam.
Hansda had submitted a petition before the Court of Special CJM (CBI) again after the probe agency submitted chargesheets in connection with Nabadiganta Capital Services Pvt Ltd. However, the court rejected it.
Earlier, the CBI court had rejected the MP’s interim bail plea for attending the Budget Session of Parliament. Hansda knocked the doors of Khurda District and Sessions Court but with the same result.
The Mayurbhanj MP is at risk of losing his seat as he has not attended Parliament since November when he was arrested for his involvement in the chit fund scam.
