BHUBANESWAR: A complaint was lodged against Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani with Town police in Puri on Sunday over his comment on the court order asking the district administration to demolish the samadhi of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik at Swargadwar.

Rudra Prasad Singh, a resident of Puri, filed the complaint against Patsani for his media statement that anyone who demolishes the memorial of Patnaik would be given 'Samadhi' at the place.

A Puri civil court had directed the district Collector and the Puri Municipality to demolish the Samadhi of Biju Patnaik at Swargadwar within three months.

Adjudicating a case filed by lawyer Ramesh Prasad Singh and two others in 1999, the court directed that no construction unwarranted by public purpose can take place inside Swargadwar premises.

Former minister and BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said legal options will be explored on the matter.
