Demolition Drive in Laxmisagar

BHUBANESWAR: More than 100 temporary structures in Laxmisagar, which encroached on the road, were demolished by the civic authorities here on Thursday.

The Central Enforcement Monitoring Committee (CEMC), comprising officials of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC),  demolished the encroachments between Laxmisagar Square and Jharpada Square. About 100 cabin shops, 100 hoardings, 50 temporary shops, two religious structures, one automobile service station, 15 extensions of private constructions and one BMC bus stop shed were demolished during the drive.

 BDA Enforcement Officer Deba Prasad Dash, Liaisoning Officer Subhranshu Sekhar Mohanty and BMC Assistant Commissioner (Recovery) Sumita Behera were present.
