Elephant Found Dead

SUNDARGARH: The carcass of a five-year-old elephant was found near a water stream at Tedgamuhan in Ujjalpur range under Sundargarh forest division on Sunday.

Though no external injury was found on the body of the animal, autopsy report is awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death, said Sundargarh Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Arjun Behera.

The elephant was last seen on Saturday while feasting on vegetable crops at nearby Khuntgaon village along with a herd of 18 elephants.
