BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate Police has extracted crucial information about the antecedents of the accused in the murder of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) executive I Suryaprasad Rao from the arrested duo Piddina Laxman Rao alias Guruji and Srinibas Panda.
On Wednesday, Guruji and Panda, currently on police remand, were taken to the guest house where Rao was murdered and asked to recreate the sequence of events which unfolded on the fateful day.
The duo was then taken on the route which the criminals had covered with Rao’s body before dumping it near a temple behind Sainik School on January 5.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had conducted reconnaissance on Rao for over two months before targeting him. Rao, a native of Visakhapatnam, was employed as an assistant general manager (AGM) in the steel plant’s finance department.
